I loved the first book; I could not put the book down. It was filled with excitement, adventure, etc. However, I cannot say the same for the second book.... It was a let down for the lack of excitement, adventure, other than the trials and the throne. I couldn't really get into it like I did for the first book, I even skipped two chapters (When Ruby is travelling on Kai's boat). I didn't feel a connection to the fantasy world in Fireblood like I did Frostblood. One of the characters I really looked forward into getting to know better was Arcus, although he only appeared in 18% of the book? ..Kind of upsetting, as he was my favourite character in the series :( The more I read, the more I began to dislike the main character- she's the complete center of the story which made it quite cliche. I really hope the third book, Nightblood will be better.
