A total guilty pleasure. Let’s get this straight right from the start, Amber is not a nice person. She’s manipulative, greedy, jealous and worst of all...extremely smart. So when she sets her sights on having Daphne’s life for her own, she intends to get it. The portion of the book from her point of view is a look into the mind of a determined person with no scruples whatsoever. We’re not really sure why she is just so bad, she just is. The second half of the book picks up quite a lot, with an alternate perspective providing context for much of what has been going on. Pros: Once the second half hits, it becomes quite hard to put down. Cons: Everything is extremely tidy and perhaps one dimensional? This person is very bad, this person is very good...there are no in-betweens. The Last Mrs. Parrish is a great, easy read for the summer. 3 stars
