Remind me to never read another YA fantasy series that isn’t a trilogy or duology, because this is getting tedious. I had to force myself to read this book, and that’s never a good thing. This book was simply unnecessary. Everything felt repetitive, held no interest to me as a reader, and even the fantasy aspects was nothing new. The initial charm of the series has worn off, chipped away like old paint, and left me annoyed with every character. I just wanted to scream “move on, already!” This book does, however, extend on Amara’s character; but I could care less. That cliffhanger, though? I’m boycotting the next book as a testament to how evil Morgan Rhodes really is. @teenreviewboard of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
