Caroline Jacobs is happy to be a wallflower. She avoids conflict at all costs and is happy to bundle up any negative feelings and bury them deep inside her to stay there forever. But then one day, during a PTA meeting, Caroline has had enough. She is sick of being stepped on, and she is tired of people treating her and people like her like doormats. So she yells at the prissy, passive-aggressive president. She says a 4-letter word. In front of the ENTIRE PTA. Then, when Polly, her daughter, gets in trouble, Caroline snaps. She has some grudges she's been holding for a long time and she is ready to let the offenders know. Polly and Caroline head out on a whirlwind adventure to get rid of Caroline's demons. "The Perfect Comeback of Caroline Jacobs" is a quick-paced book with many interesting characters: the angsty punk daughter Polly, the deacon husband Tom, the mother's blind boyfriend, Spartacus, and many more. The story flips effortlessly between the present and the past, weaving in the details in a way that makes you *need* to keep reading to figure out what happens next.
