Capponi is a Toronto author, obvioulsly has a social work type background and knows the stoire of homelessness and poverty from the inside. She has interesting plot twists but sometimes I lose her when there is 'too much informarion' about a character's background or motivation. It just feels a bit too contrived and the love interest is not realistic for a young woman with her psychological injuries. So, not great writing, some forgetable charachters, but I will never walk by another homeless person without realizing that they have a story and that there is a sad reason that they got where they are.
