Having Cherry Jones read this book to me just adds to the charm of this series that I have loved since i was a girl. Highly recommended!

My 11-yr. old daughter says: The Little House in the Big Woods is a good book for almost all ages. We listened to the audiobook in the car together as a family, and all of us enjoyed it very much. Our five year old neighbor was with us and liked it too. I am almost twelve and am the oldest. Even my three year old sister loved it! I highly recommend it.
The descriptiveness of the writer is incredible. The way Lara's Ma makes the cheese, and salts the meat, the way Lara's Pa hunts and the different songs he sings. I keep marveling at the memory of the author. It is amazing!

I love all the books in Little House series. Now I introduce these books to my daughter.

I loved reading the "Little House" books when I was a young girl, and that was a long time before Michael Landon made a TV show based on the books. I enjoy revisiting the past, both figuratively and literally! The books are still enjoyable!
