This series keeps getting better. Vol. 7 offers a little less action than some previous entries but even greater emotional depth. And the ending... Heartbreaking. Brutal. Powerful.

So dark. But so good.

Saga Volume 7 starts out in it's usual pattern of story progression and character development, then It takes a new turn that improves for the better even if It's to short.

Volume 7 lives up to the high standard of the rest of the series. The only problem with it - it always ends too quick and leaves you wanting more.

Those final pages are a shot to the heart but Saga is very good at doing that to you. In this volume a quick pit stop becomes a several month stay as Alana deals with her second pregnancy, Marko deals with his relationship with weapons, and a family that Hazel's family sort of adopts becomes apart of their family. It's a heartwrenching but heartwarming story of cooperation and love inspite of religious and political differences. Of course politics feature heavily in the side stories with Gwendolyn and Sophie. Actions have very very specific repercussions and it is told in standard fantastic fashion and, once again, my feels hurt so bad.

Someone should edit the description of Alana. She has beetle wings... not "moth wings." Beetles have a protective casing which guards their relatively fragile wings... which is exactly what she has.

Still an amazing series. This is a great gateway graphic novel for people that don't read graphic novels and want to give them a try.
