Colleen O'Rourke is in love with love...just not when it comes to herself. Most nights, she can be found behind the bar at the Manningsport, New York, tavern she owns with her twin brother, doling out romantic advice to the lovelorn, mixing martinis and staying more or less happily single. See, ten years ago, Lucas Campbell broke her heart...an experience Colleen doesn't want to have again, thanks. Since then, she's been happy with a fling here and there, some elite-level flirting and playing matchmaker to her friends. But a family emergency has brought Lucas back to town, handsome as ever and still the only man who's ever been able to crack her defenses. Seems like maybe they've got some unfinished business waiting for them--but to find out, Colleen has to let her guard down, or risk losing a second chance with the only man she's ever loved.

Waiting on You was the last in my TBR Kristan Higgins binge. The Perfect Match was a huge disappointment, but Ms. Higgins delivered with Waiting on You. Big time.

Honor and Tom had the wedding I'd wanted to read about in The Perfect Match.

There's a delicious preview of the romance between Colleen and Conrad's mother and the Chicken King with an added dash between his daughter and Bryce Campbell. Connor's mystery woman is revealed.

Uncle Joe's passing had me weeping profusely. I laughed out loud several times too.

But, the star is the long-simmering love between Colleen O'Rourke and Lucas Campbell. Their love story is loaded with detours and speed bumps that kept me engaged from beginning to end. You'll bawl your eyes out over what he says to Colleen after Uncle Joe's death and will want to smack him upside the head for decamping to Chicago.

Alas, it ends well.

My recommendation is that you read the Blue Heron series in the order the books were written. I love the intersecting characters and stories. Very similar to Susan Wigg's Lakeshore Chronicles. Enjoy!
