Such a beautiful production. The music, themes, images, characters and plot are all reminiscent of something, but at the same time the series is like nothing you have ever seen. Without trying to sound hokey, the whole thing is heart-felt. You can't watch it and not care. I am sure that my kids would enjoy it if I let them watch it today, but I am going to wait until they are emotionally mature enough to actually experience it. Like Coraline, this is more than just a show, it is a joy to watch when your spirit is feeling a little thin.

This show is adorable and amazing, and that's a rock fact!

I missed the boat on Over the Garden Wall when it originally aired on Cartoon Network in 2014, and I never got into its spiritual sibling, Adventure Time, but I’m delighted that the show finally crossed my path on a recent, lazy Sunday afternoon as the Summer had begun fading into Fall. The anthology of ten, ten minute episodes works best when watched together as it tells the story of half-brothers, Greg and Wirt and their adventures making their way home through ‘The Unknown,’ a strange, fairytale land. Over their travels the two encounter fantastic and grotesque characters, including witches, magical turtles, re-animated skeletons masquerading as a village of pumpkin people, a human family cursed to live as bluebirds, and a soul sapping beast lurking in the everpresent woods. The fable-like themes of the show, along with the muted, autumnal color palatte make for a cozy, Fall viewing. My only complaint with the series is that due to the short runtime of the installations, not enough time is given to the denouement of the story and the end feels a bit rushed even if the results are still satisfyingly heartworming.

A sometimes-cute, sometimes-scary, sometimes-strange, and sometimes-heartwarming miniseries that is perfect for curling up and watching on a cool, autumn evening. Brothers Greg and Wirt try to find their way home through a creepy and dangerous forest where they encounter all sorts of unusual characters, and not everything is as it seems. I watched this on a friend's recommendation, and was hesitant at first when I realized it was a Cartoon Network show, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and story.

"Lead through the mist by the milk-light of moon, all that was lost is revealed..."

The moment you hear this song, you're drawn into the mystery of the Unknown and follow the journey of Wirt and Greg, two brothers who find themselves lost in the woods.

I followed this miniseries when it was initially broadcast on Cartoon Network, and I urge you to go in completely blind. Don't read any synopsis of the ten episodes, don't look up any images or spoilers. Don't even read past this post--just go in blind. The fun is in the mystery of the world. I will say that you should prepare for some frights, but it's all part of the atmosphere.

I found the best time to watch this show around October/November, just as Halloween has settled in OR as it lingers and autumn's chill turns into what will be the bite of winter. Have a night-in with a blanket and a cup of your favorite hot drink to amp up the experience--the total run time is about the same as a feature film, so you won't be sitting for too long.

Beautifully-animated, Emmy-winning miniseries that combines heartfelt emotion and haunting creepiness. For fans of "Gravity Falls" who crave something that's more lyrical, a tad darker, and just as clever. That's a rock fact! Not for younger kids, as certain episodes may be too terrifying.

pretty damn funny. I really enjoyed it. Maybe not perfect 5 stars for me...but what the heck why not?

A fantastic animated miniseries that should become a Halloween staple. Fantastic stuff from Elijah Wood and Christopher Lloyd. I've described this one as O Brother Where Art Thou for kids (but more mature kids, because this one is scary). Bizarre fantasy elements, a neat time period, spooky skeletons in the dark forest, and one very hungry Beast. Totally appeals to teens and adults. Look for that smarmy visual Professor Layton reference on the ferry!

Wirt and Greg, two stepbrothers get lost in the forest one day, They later on find beatrice the bird, a girl who has been cursed.
And they try to find their way home.
This is a beautiful show with beautiful art.
The younger of children may not find it interesting, but it is a beautiful show.
5 stars!

when people say that no one makes good cartoons any more or that cartoons can't be both suitable for adults and kids, show them this show.

Over the garden all is a story of two kids that try to find their way home through a very spooky environment. The two play very will with one being full of potive energy and the other full of self doubt. The world is creepy at times but ultimately full of very charming backgrounds characters. I would say if you have a young kid that wants something a bit more spooky, but still light hearted at time. they will love this.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: The show is very deep, and even if younger kids don't understand a lot of it, they will still be disturbed by some of the ideas and characters in it, particularly in episode seven, which seriously scared the crap out of me...Still one of the best shows EVER though
