More than any of the other MCU flicks, I watched this one for kicks.

And...it kinda pulled my guts out.

Believe it or not, there's an advantage to watching the Avengers' story out of order. I'm finally ready for Infinity War.

Don't spoil it for me, anybody.

Not good, but not bad.
The whole story is Iron Man (being a jerk again) plays god by making an AI (Ultron) and his AI wants to "Clean" the world by killing all the people on it.
And Ultron seemed to me just like Apocalypse from "X-Men: Apocalypse"
It was fun, but it is not much more than an action movie.

Great movie, it has a good plot. Though I don't like when Vision says "I am." Anyways, GO MARVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's difficult to review a film that's so typically 'blockbuster' and checks all of the boxes for a major Hollywood action movie nowadays. At the same time, though, the performances by the talented actors and actresses in the film make it all feel mostly worthwhile. 'Age of Ultron' gets sadly settled with a gigantic number of plot points that it both needs to carry on from previous movies as well as set down to establish for future releases. What it does excel at, though, are the fascinating moments where Paul Bettany, Robert Downey Jr., James Spader, and others get to reflect on why they do what what they do.

The guys at RedLetterMedia put it well when they stated that the movie came off like a gigantic double-cheeseburger from a middling restaurant. There's a lot to chew on, perhaps too much, and plenty of that is pretty cheesy, but it's worth picking up overall. I feel the same way.

I agree with green_cat_3454 and AMerr22. Very good except for the few religious references that mocked Christianity. The SFX was stunning and the characters were developed. The plot was a bit dense and confusing, but I didn't find it too much of a problem. I don't know about the Black Widow and Hulk romance, though. I think Black Widow and Cap would be much better together.

Terrible !!!!! My favorite comic book is The Avengers but these movies are horrible . Robert Downey as Iron Man is bad and not true to character. Black Widow has a great ass but thats the best part of these films . Even the Vision and Ultron cant save this one ~ 420

Pretty good sequel. Vision says "I Am" which is what The LORD our God calls himself, and I don't like that part. I also don't like the Black Widow&Hulk romance, I kinda would rather it be Widow and Cap.

Solid sequel to the Avengers movies. The first one was great, this one is good. A darker tone might scare off some audiences though.

Contains one of my favorite villains in movies and a great Marvel movie. I rank this one better than the first but that could be just because i have seen the first a million times. James Spader does a great job as Ultron. I rank this as my second favorite MCU movie behind Guardians of the Galaxy. I do have one problem with this movie though. There is a couple anti religious comments and i know this does not bother everyone, but it wouldn't bother anyone if they left them out. The comment i am most referring to is when vision says "i am."

Ultron:[to Black Widow] "I wasn't sure you'd wake up. I hoped you would. I wanted to show you...I don't have anyone else. I think a lot about meteors...the purity of them. BOOM! The end. Start again. The world made clean for the new man to rebuild. I was meant to be new. I was meant to be beautiful. The world would have looked to the sky and seen hope...seen mercy. Instead, they will look up in horror because of you. You've wounded me. I give you full marks for that. Well, like the man said: 'What doesn't kill you, just makes me stronger.' "

M_ALCOTT Oct 16, 2015

[Found the "I AM" line interesting.]

Vision: "You think I'm a child of Ultron? I'm not Ultron; I'm not Jarvis either. I AM."

Natasha: Thor, report on the Hulk?
Thor: *passionately* The gates of Hel are filled with the screams of his victims.
*Bruce looks more depressed*
Thor: But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no…wounded screams, mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and, uh…and gout.

Ultron: I know you're good people. I know you mean well. But you just didn't think it through. There is only one path to peace... your extinction.
Rogers: We can still find a better way to achieve peace?
Ultron: I can't actually throw up in my mouth, but if I could I would do it!
===
Ultron: Worthy? How could you be worthy? You're all killers. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. There's only one path to peace... your extinction.
===
Rogers (Captain): You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed... walk it off.
===
Vision (Jarvis:) Humans are odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites and try to control what won't be. But there is grace in their failings. I think you missed that.
Ultron: They're doomed!
Vision: Yes... but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts. It is a privilege to be among them.
Ultron: You're unbelievably naive.
Vision: Well, I was born yesterday.

Violence: The most violent part of this movie is when someones arm is cut off but is still well in the boundaries of a PG-13 movie. Not any more violent than the other MCU movies.

Other: There may be shots of people drinking or smoking but if there are they are not memorable. It may be problematic to some parents that there are many God references, some positive, some not so positive. The not-so-positives all come from Ultron but a young child might not grasp that distinction, they'll just hear someone misquoting God.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Duh. this is a superhero movie. The notables are that Ultron is quite creepy looking, and actually karate chops someone's arm off. It isn't graphic but is...a little startling. A major character is riddled with bullets and blood is on his\her (I'm not giving any clues, people!) clothes. A child is threatened.

Violence: Again, typical Marvel. The violence is ridiculously large scale, but the injured parties are buildings, not people. LOTS OF BUILDINGS! In fact, the central plot involves lifting an entire city thousands of feet into the air and dropping it like a meteor, wiping out humanity like so many dinosaurs. There are however a few bloody wounds, but not particularly bad ones.

Coarse Language: Typical Marvel movie cussing. No obscenity but quite a sprinkling of expletives\profanity. There's even a running joke about swearing.

Sexual Content: Kissing, a suggestive reference, a reference to sterilization.
