I am not familiar with Western fiction, but I think Louis L'Amour would love this book. Short sentences and rapid fire action with little padding. I love detective fiction where the writing is so evocative that I want to slow down and (gasp) reread a passage. This is not one of those books. Sometimes I want salted buttery popcorn not an elegant meal. This book provides that. A fun story about the great nobility of Texas Rangers.
