I started this series when I was 10 years old. I had acquired a love for horror novels and vampires. I actually stopped reading them at the 9th book. 6 years later I returned to reading it and I found that yes Darren Shan does have a spectacular talent for creating a fast paced book that is nothing but intense however, at the end of each exciting chapter he uses a "!" which I found annoying and he also uses both dialogue in order to describe a scene and at times dialogue isn't really necessary which annoyed the crap out of me. I don't see this suitable for anyone over the age of 15. But it's a great read for younger ducks who like violence, vampires without love interests.
NEW Series - This is an awesome book and series. Recommended by: Doctor-at-Bass - 2! M. A.
If you are looking for a book full of vampires who are playing fair and being nice while rainbows, unicorns, sunlight, and flowers flit through the background, you've come to the WRONG PLACE!! If you are the weak of heart or are scared easily, turn around, Cirque Du Freak is not the book for you at all!
Now if you want a book full of death, blood, betrayal, heartache, action, and of course vampires! Then this is teh right choise for you! Enjoy!
