Wow. This is a must see movie. Shocking, horrifying but a story that needs to be understood and as the General says...not forgotten.

As the twentieth anniversary of the Rwandan genocide approaches on April 7, 2014, this documentary is relevant to remind us of our susceptibility for brutality to our brothers so that we will not have to "shake hands with the devil".

The film tells about a man who was aware genocide was coming and tried to get the U.N. to allow him to do something about it.
But the U.N. turned him down.
Why did the U.N. fail to heed the man's urgent pleas for further assistance to halt the massacre?
I think the film should've looked into it.

An exceptional adaptation and worthy companion to the book and the earlier documentary of the same name. Dupuis does a fine job of playing Dallaire, and the result of watching this or the documentary, or reading the book, is that you'll feel deeply angry. As you should.

A beautiful and touching movie starring the talented Roy Depuis, this is definately worth seeing. Unfortunately, it failed to capture the atmosphere of the book and skimmed over a lot of characters. (Luc Marchal, anyone?)

I have borrowed the DVD from the OPL(Nepean Centrepointe)Branch.
This DVD I would recommend for anyone who is a History Buff.
"Shake Hands with the Devil" is about a True Canadian Hero & Canadian Soldier who did his Job Well and against the World Ignorance to the People of Rwanda,Africa.
R.Dallaire is now in the Canadian Senate and is a Senator.
It is a Major Shame that the Canadian Superior's Ignored his Please for Help and so did other World Leader's.
