I particularly like the first story, Night of the Pomegranate. This is one that I am showing to my colleagues who teach. This is a great story for getting inside the head of a child character who didn't have a properly-completed science project, but did science study -- and because her teacher knew the right kind of questions to ask her, that learning experience showed. Plus, it's a funny story as well, which always helps.
The title story is certainly the best in the collection and is worth reading, but a couple of the others are pretty bad. However, the good and the bad balance out and earn this book its award sticker.
