Once upon a time, there was a little old lady who was not afraid of anything! But one autumn night, while walking in the woods, the little old lady heard . . . clomp, clomp, shake, shake, clap, clap.

And the little old lady who was not afraid of anything had the scare of her life! With bouncy refrains and classic art, this timeless Halloween story is perfect for reading aloud.

A classic and fun Halloween story that neither you nor the kids in your life will be able to resist, whether curled up at home or in a classroom or library setting.

A great read-aloud story for Halloween. Kids can act out the motions of the spooky scarecrow as you read. A real crowd-pleaser!

A not-too-scary read for preschoolers. This book has great repetition so kids can read along, act out the story and be in on the big scare ending!

This is one of my favorite fall stories to share with preschool through second grade. It is a blast to read aloud, lots of motions for the kids to do, plus it has a fantastic strong female character who, as the title tells us, is not afraid of anything! An added benefit is that it is Halloween-y but doesn't have to be. It is my go to book for the fall season. Have fun!
