The last people who expect to be meeting with a drug-addicted prostitute are a respected judge and his reclusive wife. And they certainly don't plan to kill her and bury her in their exquisite suburban garden. Yet Andrew and Lydia Fitzsimons find themselves in this unfortunate situation. While Lydia does all she can to protect their innocent son Laurence and their social standing, her husband begins to fall apart. But Laurence is not as naive as Lydia thinks. And his obsession with the dead girl's family may be the undoing of his own.

An interesting and unconventional thriller set in 1980s Ireland with inter-related perspectives. I hated the characters but found the unique form enjoyable to read.

I love this Irish author! This novel features the Mom From Hell and how she successfully manipulates and ruins all her family members closest to her, unintentionally of course. So glad I discovered this great new author of psychological suspense. Similar to Ruth Ware and Gillian Flynn. Her first book, "Unraveling Oliver" was also quite interesting.

Readable but ridiculous and completely implausible.

The book was an interesting read with decent pacing, though I don't understand why the author had to hammer on about one of the character's troubles with obesity. Yes it was a plot point but it came up constantly. Also the ending was terrible. It was completely implausible and ridiculous, as well as clear that the author felt absolutely no love for her characters.

So, so... It requires a bit of thinking post reading to realize the irony of it all.

Kept me on edge right until the end, but a bit disappointing as it was implausible. Some common sense would have changed the entire story. Despite that, it was a well written and nice to read about why it happened instead of trying to figure out who did it for a change.

In 3 words? What comes afterwards ….
Intriguing; madness; co-dependency; a not-so-funny comedy of errors

Super creepy thriller. This one is more about the aftermath of the crime and covering it up than who did it's not really a mystery. Will be enjoyed more by people who don't mind reading books with unsympathetic Baby Teeth.
