Duh!! I did not know that Anderson Cooper was the son of Gloria Vanderbilt. I read "Little Gloria... Happy at Last" by Barbara Goldsmith in 1980. If you are curious about the custody battle and Gloria's early life I recommend it. I…

I found this book very disappointing. I thought it was going to be an exchange of thoughts and feelings, but it is really just Gloria Vanderbilt telling us about her life.

Written as a series of e-mails between mother and son but resulting in a double autobiography, this is a heartfelt conversation of the kind most parents and kids should have. Hard to put down.

I love the contrast in the exchange of thoughts between this mother and her son. I found it interesting to learn a little about Gloria Vanderbilt's life, but - in all honesty (and making allowances for her difficult childhood) - I didn't…

A loving year long conversational memoir between mother & son. Stepping through some painful memories, but also discovering how differently they each perceived a given event is one of many important messages. More so is the different…

I'm glad I came across this book. Lovely insight on the relationship of a family well known but unknown in their dynamics.

For almost a year, Anderson Cooper and his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, had an email conversation where they discussed Vanderbilt's childhood, her marriages, and their family life together, including Cooper's struggle to come out to her as…

I picked up this book because I have always had a fascination with Anderson Cooper and follow him on CNN. I thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic conversation between him and his mother through e-mails. I associated the name Vanderbilt only…

Great audiobook narrated by the authors, Gloria Vanderbilt (mom) and Anderson Cooper (son) asking the personal questions via email about family for better understanding of each other and themselves.

It was only a few years ago that I discovered that Anderson Cooper was Gloria Vandebilt's youngest son. Because I follow Anderson on CNN, I had to read this "conversation " between a son and his mother. Through serious reflection on her…

Very good read......presents as a very honest discussion of their lives......I learned a lot more from her side of "the poor little rich girl" trial and spectacle of her youth . I have a great deal of admiration for them both......all the…

You think you know all there is to know about Gloria Vanderbilt, but you don't. No, you REALLY don't. To paraphrase Vanderbilt's quote from, writer, Mary Gordon, "...all things possible and nothing safe" with this memoir, a collection of…

Sometimes the rich and famous don't have the life we think they do. How wonderful Gloria is so candid talking with her son.

Such a lovely book. Nothing amazing about the writing itself but the sentiments shared between a mother and a son are priceless. It was moving to get a glimpse into AC's & GV's hearts. If only we all could talk with such candor and care.…

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Gloria VAnderbilt's telling of her story as a child, young adult, and adult made interesting reading as did Anderson Cooper's reaction to this account. THis book may be the interaction of a…

I saw Anderson Cooper speak shortly after this book was released, and was so impressed. As a non-CNN watcher, I really knew nothing about him, but through the talk and reading this book, have come to admire him greatly. I don't like to…

I saw Anderson Cooper 'live' recently. First off, he is a very funny man, which was a surprise to me. I was intrigued by his description of his new book, and by the context in which it was written. While not revelatory, what I liked the…
