This movie meant so much to people from my generation. What is movie number 2? I have no idea. It's brilliant. Even when it is silly it is funny. The music it brought to the world.

A walk down memory lane with Belushi (RIP) and Aykroyd. They were so young. Love the music and dancing; and all those well known musical quests. Action galore. Had to give it 5 stars.

Didn’t find it funny this time around.

Awesome musical, deadpan humour, 2+ hours long but my attention didn't wander. Saw it back in the day but didn't remember most of it, glad I took at second look (42 years later) See Aykroyd dance ! More 1970s dodges killed in this…

If you love music and snl, it's a must see. The star power is off the charts - simply could NOT be made in this day and age.

VERY GOOD 1980 film with The Blues Brothers expanding their style beyond television into full-length high-quality film. The film got more interesting as it went on - and the big scale car chase scenes in second half were some of THE most,…

Neither of us watched this movie when it came out in 1980. Out of curiosity we checked it out from the library to see what we had missed. To us it started a bit slow but gained momentum and we ended up really liking it. We are both in…

The Blues Brothers is a classic movie, a slight misfire at the box office on original release, but a film that gained a substantial cult following via cinema re-releases and especially home viewing. It's a riotous mix of comedy, musical…

A great musical comedy starring Dan Ackroyd, John Belushi and John Candy and great musical guests including James Brown, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin and John Lee Hooker. The songs are great. Then there's the cars chases…

In my opinion, this is the greatest musical of all time. Possibly tied with The Music Man, but The Music Man had neither the best damned fried chicken in the state nor a car chase through a mall so I have to give it to Jake and Elwood. I…

These two SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE alums took the entertainment business, by storm, doing their SAM AND DAVE act, everywhere, it seemed. I never jumped on this caravan. Come to think of it, i didn't enjoy the de rigeur film, ANIMAL HOUSE,…

See to experience Aretha Franklin at the height of her exciting musical career. Hear that greatest soul acts of all time. Watch the fun and humor everyone had with the Blues Brothers. It may be the best film on the blues acts of the…

You really have to suspend you disbelief, and check your brain at the door in order to enjoy this movie. But the music and gags, and especially the car chases and crashes, are so funny and over the top, it literally inspired the owners of…

My nickel review: horrible as a movie (too slow paced, too much gratuitous destruction, really hacky acting), but great sight gags, and cameos, and muzak!

This film is intended to showcase the music Belushi and Aykroyd loved, loosely tied together by the ridiculous plot of two characters being chased by pretty much everyone. The timing of the elevator scene near the end was brilliant.

A great comedy featuring Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi. My favorite musical with a ton of great blues music. The only film that I know where you can see Carrie Fisher with a flamethrower. It's a bit long and rated R primarily for language,…

Is it heresy to suggest that this movie is really not all that funny and that the idea of two white guys playing "blues brothers" continues the exploitative relationship of mass culture to black music? Probably. It is a classic after all.…

Wasn't there a sequel made to this video? Blues Brothers 2*** ?

Definitely a fun romp, but a little long for my tastes (2.5 hours? for a COMEDY?!). Deadpan humour very enjoyable. Over the top scenes of mayhem detracted from the whole thing for me. Must've been fun to make, though. I wonder how much it…

A monumental musical/comedy, co-written (w/Aykroyd) and masterfully directed by John Landis (Animal House, etc.). Blues, swing, soul legends -- Cab Calloway; Ray Charles; John Lee Hooker; James Brown; Ms. Aretha... Everybody on the planet…

This is my co-favorite movie, along with Terry Gilliam's Brazil. Is that weird? One so dark and British and the other so cheerfully grubby and American... Anyway... Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. My mom saw it for the first…
