Interesting scenery- supposedly the Ukraine made us able to finish this inane movie about a couple of people coming to terms with the Second World War. Elijah Wood is either a really bad actor or else the director did a bad job.

Yes, strange point of view.

Highly entertaining, poignant, and yes, very offbeat. Have seen this film several times, loved it more each time. Particularly relevant in March 2022. Ukraine has seen this before, and is not about to lie down and take it.

A story that is by turns hilarious and heartbreaking, one I've read more than a few times.

Did not like this movie at all. I found it boring and underdeveloped. Many scenes with a character looking off as if contemplating but it wasn't really clear to me what they were contemplating. Did not understand the "whys" of the last…

Weird off-beat beginning that we settled into, and ended up enjoying for its originality. Another odd character, played by Elijah Wood, and his very odd collecting. Loved the side character of Eugene Hutz, very optimistic guy!

I enjoyed this movie. While the movie did sterotype eastern eruapeans I thought it was done in a light hearted vein strictly for entertainment purposes. I found the movie to be very entertaining speaking of entertainment.

Sad and funny all over. Elijah Wood is terrific (the potato scene is hysterical). Second half better than the first. Big negative is the constant, gratuitous vulgarity.

I found this film to be quirky, charming, and ultimately poignant. It’s clearly quite stylized in its approach and reminded me a lot of the Coen brothers. Hutz was indeed a standout and a brilliant piece of casting as was the man who…

A fictionalized, autobiographical story of a young Jewish-American who travels to the Ukraine to find the woman who saved his grandfather from the Nazis. Foer uses humour to approach the topic of the holocaust, and creates an interesting…

I was disappointed in the movie (as one often is). I didn't read the book, but listened to it on audio book and loved it. The performer was wonderful. It was my first introduction to Foer's work. It made me want to go out and read…

A funny, strange movie. If you like offbeat movies this fits the bill. Very entertaining.

Superb balance between humourous, poignant, & offbeat elements. The most moving, compelling, Holocaust reconciliation narrative I've ever seen.
